It’s Oscar season! One of the nicest things about last year was Lupita Nyong’o’s becoming a red carpet fixture and beauty icon (she is now a model for Lancome) as a result of her role in Twelve Years a Slave. I think young girls don’t hear enough that they are beautiful, and Lupita gave a wonderful speech about how she grew to embrace her own beauty, when she felt like the world was telling her it was impossible. I look forward to her next big role!
